SPECIAL NOTES THIS SUNDAY Dr. Samir Dawoud is this Sunday’s guest speaker in the Timothy
Class. Dr. Dawoud, from St. Mary and St. Reuis Coptic Orthodox Church, will speak on the current
state of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt. The class is Sunday,
Feb. 5, at 9:40 a.m. in the T.K. Young Room. The Small Samaritans
will be selling treats this Sunday, Feb. 5, to raise money for the Heifer
International, which provides animals to families in poor countries. Sign up this Sunday for the NaCoMe Adult Retreat. The retreat is February 17-19, with a program on “Spirituals Enhancing Faith Journeys” presented by Dr. Nancy Graham. Cost: $110. Some transportation available. FOR SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 Youth Sunday is February 12, and several of our awesome young people will be preaching in the 11:00 service. Second graders will be presented with Bibles during the service too, and will attend a workshop and luncheon with their parents afterwards. Reflections on Faith & Sexual Identity continues on Feb. 12 with a look at Biblical perspectives led by Dr. Kendra Hotz. The presentation is 12:30-2:00 p.m. in the T.K. Young Room. FOR SPORTS FANS & ATHLETES See the Grizzlies on February 29. Grizzlies play the Dallas Mavericks. Please sign up by Feb. 15 so tickets can be purchased. The group will leave the church at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $20. Part of the game proceeds benefits MIFA. Call 725‑4165. Spring sports registration runs through February. Soccer practices begin in March; games are April-May. Soccer fees are $35 for mini-strikers (kindergarten), $65 for youth (1st-12th grade). Baseball practices start in April; games are June-July. Baseball fees are $40 for tee-ball, $60 for youth (1st–12th grade), and $45 for adults. Pick up a registration form at the recreation office or call 725‑4165. Join the Senior Olympics team! VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS NEEDED Educational supplies are needed for upcoming Clean Water missions.
